Grants for childcare will be enhanced.
Vice President Kamala Harris recently announced new measures by the administration to deliver on President Joe Biden’s order regarding child care. The Child Care & Development Block Grant program, which supports 1.5 million children and their families each month with childcare assistance, will be enhanced under new proposals.
In April, President Biden directed the Department of Health and Human Services via executive order to find means that reduce costs and provide payment assistance. Many families in the U.S. struggle to cover the cost of childcare.
The proposed rules cap childcare copayments for working families at no more than 7 percent of family income. The rules would make it easier for families to access the grants.
The White House said these steps are part of the Bidenomics agenda.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the vice president to seek the Lord as she fulfills her role in the administration.
- For the president and his advisors as they provide grants for childcare.
- For parents and families who are having difficulty covering childcare expenses.
